Award Nominations

 

The Occupational Therapy Association of Oregon wants to recognize individuals who have contributed to the profession of occupational therapy in Oregon. This recognition is based on participation in state, national and local association activities and specific activities/accomplishments that have contributed to the advancement of occupational therapy. At conference this year, we will present the following awards:


THE GRACE BLACK AWARD OF HONOR*

The Grace Black Award of Honor was created to recognize an OT/OTA who is a member of OTAO, who has made a continuing contributions in more than one of the following areas: OTAO, community, legislation, administration, public relations, recruitment, program development, education, research, publication, and therapeutic practice. *Background on Grace Black: OTAO established the Award of Appreciation in 1976 to express recognition to a member of OTAO for contributions to the advancement of occupational therapy in Oregon. In 1981, this award was changed to the Grace Black Award of Honor, to venerate Grace’s contributions to the advancement of occupational therapy in Oregon. Grace Black established the OT department at what is now Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU). In 1946, Grace was the chairwoman of committee that created our original constitution to incorporate OTAO. She was also the OTAO president from 1950-1952.

AWARD OF MERIT

The Award of Merit was created to recognize an OT/OTA who is a member of OTAO, who has made a continuing contribution to: the OT community, legislation, program/service development, management, public relations/promotion of occupational therapy, recruitment, education or therapeutic practice. PRESIDENT’S AWARD

The President's Awards was created to recognize an OTAO member who has contributed/supported the OTAO President in their leadership role. CLICK HERE TO NOMINATE.

SERVICE AWARD

The Service Award was created to recognize members of OTAO, who have provided service to the Association through time, task, or talent. CLICK HERE TO NOMINATE.

AWARD OF APPRECIATION

The Award of Appreciation was created to recognize an individual or group of non-occupational therapists who have contributed to the advancement and/or recognition of the occupational therapy profession. CLICK HERE TO NOMINATE.

CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

The Certificate of Appreciation was created to recognize an individual who has taken on a volunteer activity or project for the betterment of OTAO. CLICK HERE TO NOMINATE.

Awards committee will select recipients, and awards/certificates will be presented at Annual Conference.
